Hi there, and thanks for stopping by this page. Genealogy, or family tree research, is something I truly love.
Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than being able to solve family puzzles. I hope the FAQs on this page provide all the information you need to consider using my services.
Feel free to email me with any queries you may have.
Please reach me at chrysayley@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Because I'm diligent, trustworthy, honest, practical, have research skills, tenacity, patience and honesty.
I recommend only searching one line at a time for example mother’s side, or father’s side.
You might only want one relative researching and that’s fine.
I conduct the majority of research online and specialise in families who have links between the UK and New Zealand. However, I will consider any request as I have access to many research sites.
Gather all the information about your family that you’d like researching. Talk to relatives, look at old bibles and photographs to try and fill in some of the gaps. Make a note of any births, deaths and marriages you know about and supply copies of documents if you have them.
Basics
Copies of records: birth, baptism, marriage, death, burial, confirmation, school, employment records, newspaper articles, census records, criminal, immigration/emigration records, naturalisation documents, images or photos.
Additional costs may be incurred if copies of original documents are required.
Optional extras
Voice recordings of family members saved digitally.
Pedigree charts/family group charts.
I can set up a family tree on Ancestry. com for members to access. There's a fee for Ancestry based trees.
Posting on free sites is also an option.
Introductory offer
Eight hours of research time for NZ$500 inc GST if appliable.
Every research project is unique and there are many factors influencing the time taken such as the basic information I’m provided with, availability of records, the location of your ancestors, the time period being researched and so on.
Deposit: 25% at time of booking.
Additional costs: certificates, postage, travel, translations.
Additional time
To be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
No, sorry but at this stage I do not.
